Through a related initiative – One Earth One Voice – hundreds of thousands of people across Canada came together to call for a green and just recovery from COVID-19, and to demand funding in the federal budget to protect nature and jump-start Canada’s transition to a cleaner and more equitable economy. To read more about a Green and Just Recovery and learn what our post-pandemic asks are, click here. Together, these initiatives have helped secure commitments from federal decision-makers to strengthen environmental protections and address injustices, during elections and at other key moments for Canadian policy.
Alongside grassroots groups and community members from coast to coast to coast, we’re sending a strong message to federal political parties and candidates: Canada needs leaders who are committed to building a more just society that is better for our health, the economy, and nature.
We have come together to demand that any government elected to represent us must commit to respect and uphold Indigenous rights, and ensure that nature and climate action are a priority. You can read our full list of demands here.
